Passing through the wilderness of Indiana. We stopped at the Butlerville post office so that Sandy could send along his Creation Museum postcard (he is now lamenting that he did not buy more souvenirs; whereas I feel quite smug that I bought seven coffee thermos). Anita, the quite nice postmaster, talked to us at length about places to eat in North Vernon. Sandy was quite concerned about where people here in the, to use his terminology, the Northwest Territory, bought food. His theory was that people here were perpetually in the hunter/gatherer stage. As he is learning, Hoosiers, for all of our flaws, are the nicest people in the world.
