We spent most of the day winding through West Virginia. Our first meal was at the Dairy Queen in Romney, WV. It was a meal of excellence, featuring burgers, fries and milk shakes, even if it did leave Sandy more than a tad stuffed. To my surprise Sandy did not energetically support my proposal that we try and eat/drink something at every DQ along US 50 on the way to Guymon. Granted, it did seem to possess a bit too much of a Super-Size Me vibe, but it spoke to the dream of America. We later stopped at a McDonald’s in Grafton and the woman behind the counter could not understand Sandy’s accent. It was a great drive, although the internet/phone signal throughout most of the state was spotty at best.
